Clinic Administrator – Autism Diagnostic Clinic (Part Time)

About the Role

The Clinic Administrator position is a hands-on reception role, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the clinic whilst supporting a multi-disciplinary team.  You will lead by example to ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to all families and staff.   The role has a strong interface with individuals and their families, who require a caring and supportive environment during this, often, difficult period of their lives.

The Clinic Administrator will be accountable for:

  • Proactive engagement with families and health professionals to respond to referrals, make bookings, manage waiting lists and screen for eligibility. 
  • Managing clinic enquiries, which includes keeping records of phone and email enquiries.
  • Coordinating the scheduling of assessments and other activities of clinical staff to maximise the efficient running of the clinic. 
  • Resolving day-to-day operational issues and challenges.
  • Liaising with all stakeholders to minimise waiting times for individuals and families.
  • Providing secretarial and administrative support to the Consultant Psychiatrist and clinicians  including processing Medicare claims, invoicing, managing medical records and data entry.

 

About You

In this role, you will ideally have:

  • A welcoming personality, and sensitive approach to children and families attending the Clinic. 
  • A strong track record of collaborating with others in a team environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with, and advanced skills in the suite of MS tools, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a health care setting, while not necessary, will be considered favourably
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
