Applications Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an Applications Specialist to join our team, focusing on the administration, support, and maintenance of our business-critical applications. This role is central to ensuring our applications operate effectively, meet organisational needs, and deliver value to our stakeholders.

Reporting to the Applications Lead, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and documenting applications while providing hands-on support to users and stakeholders. This position is particularly suited to someone with Salesforce Administration experience who is eager to take on a broader role that includes supporting multiple applications and gaining exposure to a wider range of IT systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for a range of business applications and assist users in resolving application issues.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain applications to ensure they meet operational needs.
  • Work with the team to implement application updates and system enhancements.
  • Identify and escalate unresolved issues as required.
  • Ensure applications meet security, capacity, and reliability requirements.
  • Support application testing and assist with rollout processes for upgrades.
  • Document application processes, user guides, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Liaise with vendors and stakeholders to maintain service quality and resolve issues professionally.

 

About You

We’re looking for a well-rounded Applications Specialist who is:

  • Experienced: You bring 3+ years in a similar role, ideally within a highly regulated or complex environment, and have experience administering and supporting business applications, preferably Salesforce (or a willingness to learn).
  • A Problem Solver: You’re proactive in identifying and addressing issues before they escalate, ensuring smooth and reliable application performance.
  • Organised & Adaptable: You manage multiple priorities effectively, remain composed under pressure, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • A Clear Communicator: You explain technical concepts in plain language, provide clear guidance to users, and work collaboratively with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Tech-Savvy: You have a solid understanding of SQL or similar databases and are confident working with modern business applications.
  • Proactive & Self-Motivated: You take initiative, anticipate needs, and work independently to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.

To join our team, you will be required to complete required clearances including a National Police Clearance.
