Assistant Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in day‑to‑day financial operations and month‑end processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on accounting work, values accuracy and teamwork, and wants to contribute to an organisation with community impact.

As strong collaboration and workplace culture are central to achieving our goals, this is a fully office-based, in-person role.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will assist with:

  • Month‑end processing, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting support
  • Client accounting
  • Payroll processing and payroll‑related reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements
  • Assisting with process improvements and system enhancements within Finance
  • Providing general financial support across the organisation

 

About You

In this role, you will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting and/or progressing towards a professional accounting qualification
  • 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role (experience in NFP or disability services highly regarded)
  • Exposure to month‑end processes and payroll
  • Strong attention to detail and a well‑organised approach to work
  • Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
  • A collaborative mindset and clear communication skills
  • Alignment with our values and commitment to working in the disability sector

To join our team you will be required to complete required clearances including a National Police Clearance.
