The Autism Association is one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit Autism specific service providers, and the only specialist organisation providing a full range of services from early childhood through to adulthood in Australia. Our Employment Services program is the only Autism Specialist Disability Employment Service (DES) in Australia.  Our focus is to assist eligible job seekers with Autism to obtain and maintain open employment in the community, with over 300 individuals currently using the service.

About the Role

We currently have an opportunity for a permanent full time Employment Consultant – Marketing to join our Employment Services Marketing team. This role is responsible for empowering and motivating our job seekers on their employment pathway to success, with a focus on building relationships with employers and breaking down employment barriers.

The successful applicant will possess high-level communication skills and dedication to the rights of people with disability. In this role, you will:

  • Assist job seekers to locate and secure suitable jobs
  • Build relationships with local employers to create suitable and sustainable employment opportunities
  • Promote Employment Services to potential employers
  • Maintain awareness of current labour market trends and programs
  • Ascertain the skills, abilities and interests of job seekers, prepare resumes and develop job plans
  • Deliver a high quality, individualised service to our job seekers and employers whilst adhering to strict guidelines and compliance requirements
  • Complete relevant administrative requirements including maintaining employer data, required records and job search activities

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be familiar with the employment challenges faced by people with a disability and will have experience working in a role that enables their employment. You will also have:
