Our Therapy and Clinical Services Team are experts in Autism, and we continually update our expertise through our international and national partnerships to ensure peer reviewed, evidence-based practices. It is important to us that the individuals and families we support have options relevant to their needs while adding value to their life. Our specialist Clinical Team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Early Childhood Teachers, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners and specialist therapy support staff.

About the Role

Do you enjoy working with adults in the community to build their community participation and independence? We are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Speech Pathologist to join our Therapy and Clinical Services Team to support teenagers and adults with autism. The successful applicant will possess high level communication skills, and dedication to the rights of people with disability. In this role, you will: 

 

  • Complete clinical communication assessments and develop and implement individual therapy plans 
  • Deliver direct therapy across a range of environments including a clinic, home, school and out in the community 
  • Lead the delivery of specialist therapy groups across various skills 
  • Provide training and coaching for families  
  • Complete specialist communication assessment for Augmentative and Alternate Communication 
  • Have opportunities to implement specialist programs and curriculum development within diagnostics, Hanen Programs® parent coaching and training, social communication, mealtimes, Positive Behaviour Support Programs and more 
  • Lead specialist therapy groups across a range of ages and skill areas, including the PEERS program 

  

About You

We are looking for a Speech Pathologist who ideally has:

  • A tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and registration with SPA  
  • A strong work ethic, high motivation with a can-do approach   
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to prioritise 
  • Dedication and passion for working as part of a dynamic team 
  • Experience in working with children and/or adults with disability and their families 
  • High level communication skills
