About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified person to join the Autism Advisor team. Advisors are the first point of contact when individuals or families contact the Association for information and/or our services. Autism Advisors are responsible for supporting families through the intake process, determining eligibility and answering general enquiries.  A sound understanding of Autism supports and services across age ranges, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Autism Association services is a key component of the role.

About You

We are looking for a full or part time Autism Advisor to join our small but passionate team at Shenton Park.

In this role, you will ideally have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, engaging with individuals with Autism, their families, and all other key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of Autism and the challenges people with Autism and their families experience
  • Cultural knowledge and understanding, which is reflective of the community
  • Excellent active listening and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and experience with contemporary databases and systems.
  • Ability to organise, plan and schedule own work independently, such as tracking progress of work plans and outcomes.
  • Knowledge and experience of the NDIS
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
