Due to an expansion of our Diagnostic Services, we are seeking experienced Allied Health Professionals to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team undertaking autism diagnostic assessment from early childhood to late adolescence.

This is a cutting edge service with a highly qualified multi-disciplinary team that includes a specialist Consultant Psychiatrist, Speech Pathologists, Clinical Psychologists and Registered Psychologists.    

The Autism Association of Western Australia is one of Australia’s largest specialist service providers, providing a wide range of autism services from early childhood to adulthood.  We are committed to evidence-based peer-reviewed practice in all of our services, clinical and non-clinical. 

About the role

This is an exciting role for experienced Allied Health professionals with a passion for clinical excellence.  The successful candidates will have significant experience in working with individuals with Autism and will be committed to a high standard of person-centred service and clinical care.   Experience in diagnostic services is highly desirable.  However training, mentorship and ongoing supervision will be provided by senior clinicians.  The successful candidate will undertake diagnostic assessment in their area of professional expertise as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential Selection Criteria

The successful candidates will:

  • Be registered with AHPRA.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in working with Autistic children and/or adults in a clinical/allied health role.
  • Strong knowledge of the DSM-5 criteria for ASD and related disorders. 
  • Have highly developed skills in communicating with individuals and families.
  • Demonstrate excellent standards in written communication and report writing, including an eye for detail in scoring, assessment administration and record keeping.
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development and peer-review.
  • Enjoy working as part of a dedicated collaborative peer-review team.

 

Highly Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in differential diagnosis inclusive of ASD
  • Possess a Graduate Certificate in Autism Diagnostics (GCAD)
  • ADOS-2 trained
  • ADI/R trained
  • Experienced and confident in administering cognitive and language assessments
