About the Role

 

We are looking for a passionate, energetic and caring Speech Pathologist with a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent services to individuals with Autism and their families.

In this role, you will: 

  • Deliver a broad range of therapy services to a diverse caseload including standardised and non-standardised assessments for clients with a range of speech and language difficulties
    • Complete specialist communication assessment for Augmentative and Alternate Communication
    • Provide therapeutic support and information to families and key stakeholders supporting people with autism to create inclusion and participation across a range of settings
    • You will work as a speech pathologist within a key worker model, providing both direct and consultative supports to clients with autism
    • Be trained and supported to implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies with a focus on improving quality of life
    • Have opportunities to implement specialist programs and curriculum development within, Hanen Program® parent coaching and training, social communication, specialist mealtime assessment and management, Positive Behaviour Support programs and more
    • Be based at one of our therapy hub and work within a local area in people’s homes, schools, and community settings to provide family centred services
    • Lead specialist therapy groups across a range of ages and skill areas


    About You

    The successful applicant will enjoy working with individuals with autism and their families to ensure a total communication approach is achieved for all. If you are a people focussed, values driven Speech Pathologist, we’d love to hear from you!

    Additional requirements for the role include:

    • A tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
    • Membership with Speech Pathology Australia
    • Person centred approach
    • Experience working with children and/or adults with disability and their families is desirable
