Positive Behaviour Practitioner

About the Role

Join our dedicated team of PBS practitioners if you are passionate about changing lives through the holistic lens of positive behaviour support.

Successful applicants would be granted entry into our fully funded PBS Academy, and supported through an intensive career development pathway to becoming a confident and skilled PBS practitioner. The PBS Academy is underpinned by our established PBS Framework and includes a 6 month course of professional development, individual and group supervision, observations with experienced practitioners and assistance with the self-assessment process. Following graduation from the PBS Academy, you would be provided with ongoing regular professional development and supervision.

In this role you will be supported to: 

  • Develop strong and rewarding relationships with autistic individuals and families across the age span
  • Develop an excellent understanding of our Positive Behaviour Support Framework
  • Establish a solid understanding of NDIS Capability Framework
  • Complete thorough Functional Behaviour Assessments
  • Excel in developing, writing and evaluating Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Problem solve alongside our Multidisciplinary Team
  • Learn from experienced PBS practitioners with practical exposure to a range of complex support needs

 

About You

You will have:

  • An interest in taking the next steps in your career
  • Experience in working with people with autism
  • A tertiary qualification in Allied Health, including Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Social Work or related qualifications
  • Dedication to a human rights approach
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all stakeholders e.g., individuals, families, and support staff
  • Demonstrated high level planning and time management skills
