About the Role
We currently have opportunities for a Full-time and part time Employment Consultant – Post Placement Support, to join our Employment Services team.
This role is responsible for empowering and motivating our job seekers on their employment pathway to success, with a focus on building relationships with employers and breaking down employment barriers.
The successful applicant will possess high-level communication skills and dedication to the rights of people with disability.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute significantly to the sustainability of DES employment programs while facilitating greater community engagement for individuals.
- Support our job seekers with Autism to achieve their full potential in their current employment
- Support and mentor employers to provide the optimal workplace adjustments for their employees with Autism
- Responsibilities involve advocating for stakeholder collaboration, providing support services, and monitoring program effectiveness to achieve the organization's mission of promoting community integration and sustainability.
- Fostering an acceptance and understanding of individuals with ASD.
- Deliver a high quality, individualised service to our job seekers, building their employable skills for job roles whilst adhering to strict guidelines and compliance requirements.
- Complete relevant administrative requirements including maintaining employer data, required records and job search activities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be familiar employment challenges faced by people with a disability. You will also have:
- Proven excellent communication skills to engage and maintain employer relationships combined with the ability to achieve results and exceed targets
- Ability to think creatively and outside of the box, with the ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Passion to educate the wider community, breaking down employment challenges and community stigmas for your job seekers.
- First Aid certificate (HLTAID011), including a current HLTAID009 component.
- Working with Children’s Check
- Full valid drivers' license
- Access to a suitable vehicle
- Experience in the use of a DES IT system is highly desirable
To join our team you will be required to complete required clearances including an NDIS Workers Check.
