Facilitator - Improving Health Outcomes Project

About the Role

The Improving Health Outcome Project aims to deliver a range of initiatives and strategies to build the capacity health literacy of people with Autism, and build the capacity of health and mental health professionals to deliver quality health services. The outcome of the Project is to support governments and mainstream services to change and/or adapt practices to a more inclusive and accessible health and mental health service models.

About You

We are looking for a Facilitator to undertake a range of co-design activities, stakeholder engagement, and research and measurement to assess the effectiveness of initiatives in improving the health outcomes of people with Autism.

 In this role, you will ideally have:

  • Commitment to and upholding the rights of people with disability.
  • Experience in the delivery of effective co-design and engagement with people with Autism, their family and carers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with a range of professionals including but not limited to health and mental professionals, government agencies, mainstream services, people with Autism and their families.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of capacity building initiatives for people with a disability and their families.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and representation skills including a proven history of bieng able to successfully guide groups to shared decision making.
  • Demonstrated understanding of systemic advocacy and co-design approaches.
  • Sound knowledge of issues and barriers for people with Autism to access mainstream services.
  • Strong listening and engagement skills.
  • A critical thinker with the ability to find creative solutions.
  • Attention to detail.
